Honey Hill Farm provides quality animal attractions for event in Kentucky and Ohio. Read more about our family and what we do on our About Us page.
Llamas and goats and ducks, oh my!
We all know that petting zoos are awesome. What you may not know is that they are a lot of work!
We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic animal lovers to take care of our pets while they are at events. This position includes petting, hugging, brushing and loving a variety of animals. But it also means scooping manure, interacting with the public, maintaining a safe and happy environment for the animals and event attendees.
Event Assistants meet our team at a variety of events all over our service area, including birthday parties, festivals and school “farm days.”
Previous experience working with livestock is preferred, but we will provide training to anyone willing to work hard and get their hands dirty.
Honey Hill Farm sends animals to events all over Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. The driver, truck and animals leave our farm in Berry, KY and travel to events in Lexington, Northern KY, Louisville, Cincinnati, etc. Event assistants either meet at the site of the event (a business, a school, a birthday party location) or they meet at one of our common meeting locations (we use a bowling alley in Erlanger, a Lowe’s in Georgetown and other various safe meeting spots often), before riding in the truck to the location of the event. All travel time is paid.
Event Assistants work extremely flexible hours and never have to commit to a set schedule. Each week, the event coordinator reaches out via text (or occasionally phone) to team members in various areas, to fill open positions for events in their area. The team member is given a day and approximate start and end time and are asked if they are available. The team member simply says yes or no. There is no commitment to be available all the time and no penalty for saying no too often, but team members who say yes a lot do tend to get first dibs. Once a team member has agreed to an event, it is considered a very strong commitment and is not easy to change past that point except in cases of illness or emergency.
Some EA’s work 3-4 times per week, while others may only work a couple of times a month. Because our needs vary greatly from month to month, we do not recommend that you rely on this job as your only source of income. This is an excellent job for students, teachers and anyone seeking part-time, gig based employment.
Event Assistants are paid for their work every week.
We are looking for the best! Our image is extremely important to us. All Honey Hill Farm team-members must be clean-cut, enthusiastic, competent, extremely reliable, and able to pass a background check.
Other requirements include:
Carefully complete the application, ensuring that all fields marked with a * are completed.
Honey Hill Farm is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
