will be partnering with Honey Hill Farm again in 2017, to bring the interactive “Barnyard” experience back to Frontier Trail.
The petting farm that operated in the park for many years was renovated and upgraded in 2014. It features approximately 60 animals, a walk-in pen, and offers guests the ability to feed the animals.
Last year, exotic animals such as a camel, kangaroo, emus and Patagonian cavies were added to the experience.
In 2017, the petting farm will be expanded around the duck pond, with larger pens being built to accommodate the popularity of the attraction and the addition of a second camel and two yaks.
“Honey Hill Farm is extremely committed to ensuring a positive, interactive experience for both guests and our animals. The expansion of the area and addition of a second camel will help improve the experience for animals and park guests,” said Honey Hill Farm General Manager, Robert Powell. “We’re really excited to be able to offer yaks this year.”
Pony Rides will also be coming to the Frontier Trail this year. Guests will be able to ride a pony through a new horse trail that has been added to an area near the petting farm. One to two ponies will be available for rides, with other ponies grazing nearby and switching out throughout the day.
The Barnyard will open on May 6, 2017. Hours will be the same as last year, 12pm-6pm, everyday.
