Honey Hill Farm News & Blog • By Ally Hilgefort, Staff Writer

Happy Friday, and boy does Columbus have a great Saturday for you this weekend! Tomorrow, 6/6/15 from 10am until 5pm, the Ohio Village transforms into Storybook Village to give your children a dream day of meeting and playing with their favorite characters from books and cartoons. Adults love this event, as well – The detailed environment really does transform you to a fairy tale reality that everyone enjoys.

Story time take place throughout the day in different parts of the village, and there are special activities to go with particular readings. For example, last year after hearing the tale of Jack & Jill, kids were asked to fetch a pail of water! These themed games, coupled with talking to and playing with real-life characters like Little Red Riding Hood, Pete the Cat and the Berenstain Bears, magically pulls adventures from pages and places them right into your day.

This wonderful event is a collaboration between the Ohio History Connection, Columbus Metropolitan Library, WOSU Public Media and The Columbus Foundation. Thanks to these partners, you can also take advantage of early literacy and school-readiness resources on site, or even have your child’s hearing tested by Columbus Speech and Hearing Center. While you’re at it, go ahead and sign-up for library cards for your family’s summer reading goals.

And don’t forget to check out Honey Hill Farm‘s petting zoo animals before leaving! Find friendly goats, alpaca, sheep, and other beloved creatures hanging out next to the Village’s American House Hotel from 11am until 3pm. While relatively new to the Columbus area, Honey Hill Farm’s animals are well-known attractions at Cedar Point and King’s Island, so they’ll fit right in with the other famous characters at this event!

Admission to Storybook Village is free for children 6 and under, and free for any Ohio History Connection member. For kids 7-12 to enter, the cost is just $5. Adult tickets are $10 and Senior tickets only $9. For a full list of activities and character locations, CLICK HERE.
